Dr. Monet McCarus

Dr. Monet McCarus is a dedicated veterinarian known for her compassionate approach to animal care. Originally from Maryland, she moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 2005 to attend the College of Charleston, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Following graduation, Dr. McCarus built a successful career in business development, collaborating with top executives, entrepreneurs, and community leaders throughout the Charleston area. However, her deep bond with her beloved English Labrador Retriever, Chloe, and later her second dog, HoneySuckle, inspired her to pursue her true passion—veterinary medicine.

Dr. McCarus returned to the College of Charleston once again to earn a second Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while continuing to work full-time. She then attended Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine where she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

After completing her veterinary degree, Dr. McCarus returned to Charleston to begin her career as an Emergency Veterinarian before transitioning to general practice. She is thrilled to be joining the team at Pleasant Pet Care where she is committed to delivering knowledgeable, sincere, and compassionate care to her patients and their families.

Dr. McCarus currently shares her home with a lively pack of four dogs and four cats. Her personal and professional experiences have shaped her purpose-driven approach to veterinary medicine, and she is dedicated to improving the lives of animals and fostering meaningful relationships with their owners.
